Clean and lubricate the chain

Remove the battery and keep fingers away from sprockets.

Never run the motor while cleaning the chain.

Chain lubricant Brush Lint-free rags

Follow in order

Repair steps

Dry-brush the chain

Remove loose dirt while slowly turning the crank by hand.

Keep hands clear of the sprocket teeth.

Apply lubricant

Add one small drop to each roller on the inside of the lower chain run.

Keep lubricant away from brake parts.

Let it penetrate

Wait several minutes, then rotate the crank by hand to distribute lubricant.

Wipe thoroughly

Hold a rag around the chain and rotate it until the outer plates feel nearly dry.

Final check

Verify the repair

Chain runs quietly No stiff links remain Excess lubricant is wiped away Brakes are clean and dry
